Project3-Wish You Were Here

BIO / Wish You Were Here

It’s quite common and also painful, when two people are communicating but aren’t on the same wavelength. At this point, the walls begin to creep in.

In this project, I designed an installation and a garment to reflect on this experience, hoping they could resonate with others.

In this project, multiple approaches were explored to reflect on misunderstandings and emotional distance within intimate relationships.

In the initial research phase, hand-drawing was used to record personal emotions intuitively.

For the development of silhouettes and patterns, installation design and material experiments helped to visualize specific emotional states.

Finally, abstract emotional themes were grounded through textile choices and garment construction.

A childhood game — drawing on someone’s back to pass a message — becomes a method for observing distortion in communication.

This simple act serves as a metaphor for the misunderstandings that emerge when interaction is incomplete.

The intricate web of human relationships inspired the use of weaving as a way to visualize connection.

These relationships are never static — they are dynamic, constantly shifting.
To express this, transparent PVC tubing was used to make the network visible, revealing the changing contents within.
